RD SERVICE: A LEGIT AUTHENTICATOR

Today we are going to talk about RD Service, as I said earlier in my post "How to Use DIGIPAY" about explaining RD Service. This Post will cover all the aspects related to this service, and how you can use this service in your devices to make it an Authenticated device.

About RD Service

RD Service full form is Registered Device Service. It is used to secure the uses of Biometric Devices in various kinds of Authentication services like Aadhaar Cards, Aadhaar-based KYC in Banks, Banking Transaction - Deposit, Withdrawal, and Balance inquiries, Attendance processes in Industries. It provides security to all devices and allows them for legit Authentication in all these activities.  

For Example: when we go for KYC (Known Your Customer) Process in Banks, Biometric Devices were used for scanning our Fingers to authenticate particular data from the UIDAI database. A successful Scanning process; shows all the details mentioned in our UIDAI Aadhaar Card to the Banker. They Check the Records filled in physical forms displaying data on Computer, if there is all details get matched they accept our KYC process, and when any issues they can reject the process of KYC to. In this process, our fingerprint data were stored in the system, which is not secured and can be misused. In this context, RD service helps secure a person's data.

Before starting with "The Process of RD Service Registration", it is necessary for all users to know about the various types of Biometric Devices available in the market and how to find the serial numbers of Biometric Devices.

How to Find the Serial Numbers of Biometric Devices

Each and Every Biometric Device have its own Unique Serial Number. User Can either find this number back side of the device or by connecting their devices to Computers or Mobile Phones. The product name, model Number, Product Number, and Serial Number are mentioned on the backside of the Biometric device.

How to find the Serial Number on Mobile Phone?

Friends, there are several applications available in the Google Play Store through which you can easily find your device serial number and other details if the serial numbers are misplaced or not clear on the backside of your device. This application will help you in finding your serial number for registering your device with the RD service.  

Process of Finding Serial Number

Step 1. Find and Install Application on your Mobile Device:- Find the app in the Google Play store by using the keyword "USB Device Info" and install it on your mobile phone. I am using the USB Device info App Developed by Infinity Group. Users can also have choices to select and install other applications as per their own requirements.

Step 2. Plug your Device:- with the help of USB OTG (On-the-Go), you can connect your Biometric Device to a Mobile phone. For mini USB and C-type ports, separate products are available easily in the market.

Step 3. Activate OTG option in Mobile Phones:-  In old android phones, the OTG option is not pre-activated and it's not working until you don't allow it or "ON" on your phone. So check this option in the mobile Additional setting section. For new mobiles, this feature automatically gets ON at the time of the connecting device. After activation, your device will start functioning.

Step 4. Open the Application and see the result:- By opening the particular app it will start fetching your device information and show you the Device name, Device ID, Device Protocol, Manufacturer Name, Product Name, Serial Number, USB version, and Vendor ID.

How to Find the Serial Number of Biometric Device in Computer or Laptop?

Step 1. Connect your "Biometric Device" to your Computer or Laptop.

Step 2. Search "Device Manager" on your computer and open it.

Step 3. Click "Universal Serial Bus Controller" from the list.

Step 4. Find your device name in the list and right-click to open its "Properties".

Step 5. Select the "Details" option, where "Property" and "Value" are displayed.

Step 6. In the "Property" Section select the second option "Device Instance Path" to see the serial number of your device.
